7 ON THE FLY BREAKFAST IDEAS
Do you lay in bed in thinking of what you can skip in the morning to get a few more minutes of zees? Is skipping breakfast at the top of your list?
Maybe you need breakfast on the fly, or maybe you need some more veggies in your day to help that daily poo come down easier. Cause honey, straining ain’t cute.
Breakfast is supposed to be the most important meal of the day, so why skip it when you can any of these 7 quick breakfast ideas and still sleep in.
When you know the day before that you'll sleep until the last possible moment.
1. OVERNIGHT STEEL OATS WITH BLUEBERRIES
Place 1/2 cup of Steel Oats in a mason jar
Add 1/2 cup of greek yogurt
Add 1 Tbls of clover honey
Add 1 Tbls of chia seeds
Add 1/2 cup of blueberries
Add 1/2 cup of vanilla almond milk (or any type of milk you like)
Place the lid on and shake until all the ingredients are mixed together. Place in the refrigerator and let sit overnight.
Garnish with a dash of cinnamon (optional)
Yes, I will nuke some shit if it will save me some time.
2. SPINACH AND CHEDDAR MICROWAVE QUICHE
Place half of cup of fresh spinach in a small bowl
Fill the bowl with water covering the spinach
Place in the microwave and cook for 1 minute then drain the water
In a separate bowl mix together one egg, 1/3 cup of cheddar cheese, and 1/3 cup of milk
Crumble in 2 slices of cooked bacon, 4-6 sliced cherry tomatoes and 1/3 cup of diced green peppers then pour into small bowl with spinach
Place back into the microwave and cook for 3 mins.
I prefer juices over smoothies. It's a texture thing! So, when you want more than your recommended daily allowance of fruits and veggies served up in an 8 ounce glass try this recipe. I like preparing my juice the night before so it can chill in the fridge overnight. But make sure you finish this juice off within 3 days. After that, it loses all its optimal nutrients.
3. GREEN JUICE
5 Celery Ribs (sticks)
2 Green Apples
2 Green Pears
1 Cup of Arugula
1 Cup of Spinach
1 Lemon peeled
1 inch of ginger
Add all the ingredients into your juicer. This recipe will give you about 30 fl ozs. Store your liquid in an airtight mason jar. If you like your meal on the go then you'll love this airtight shaker. No straw necessary because it has a built-in spout.
This is a great recipe that will stick to your ribs! If you're not a caffeine junkie then you'll love that it has protein to clear the brain fog. Spiralize your zucchini the night before and this recipe will only take 7-8 minutes to prepare.
4. SPIRALIZED ZUCCHINI WITH A EGG NEST
1 tsp of olive oil
1 medium garlic clove minced
1 small zucchini spiralized
1 cup of cherry tomatoes cut in half
1/4 tsp Kosher salt
pinch of black pepper
1 large egg
1 Tbls ricotta or feta cheese
2 Tbls of chopped basil
Heat oil in a medium nonstick sauté pan over medium heat. Add garlic and pepper flakes; cook, stirring often, 1 minute. Add spiralized zucchini, tomatoes, salt and black pepper; cook, stirring often, 2-3 minutes.
Create a well in the center of vegetable mixture; carefully crack egg in the center. Cook uncovered until whites are set and yolk is done to your liking, 3-4 minutes. Garnish with cheese and basil; serve.
Makes 1 serving

5. STRAWBERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE
Place 1 cup of strawberries, 2 bananas and 8 ozs of coconut milk in a blender for 1-2 minutes. Pour into glass. To add garnish slit a banana and strawberry and place on the rim of the glass.
Because sometimes I need to have breakfast while driving and since these are small bite sizes I can manage it without sideswiping anyone.
6. CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER GRANOLA BITES
Cut a green apple into wedges. Spread peanut butter on each slice. Sprinkle with granola and drizzle a little melted dark chocolate on top. Add a tsp of vegetable with 1/4 cup chocolate chips in a small bowl. Heat in microwave for about 2 minutes or until completely melted.
Try having a breakfast sandwich Mexican style.
7. PEANUT BUTTER STRAWBERRY & BANANA QUESADILLA
Heat pan with cooking spray or butter. Spread 1 Tbls of peanut butter over entire tortilla. Place banana and strawberry slices all over. Sprinkle the fruit with cinnamon. Cook and fold over once golden brown. You can cut into smaller bite size wedges or eat like a taco.
